Course Overview
Day 1 of this 4 day course introduces models for understanding perception, thinking, feeling and behaviour. It explains the selective and unique nature of our individual perception, and some of the differences between us as human beings. The interplay of thinking and feeling, and the impact on our behaviour is described, all with (at times comic) illustrations from everyday life.
Day 2 looks at the NLP approach to successful change, and introduces a framework for setting outcomes that are most likely to be achieved. A process for turning down negative emotion generated from memories, or imagination is explained, and demonstrated. The module ends with an explanation of rapport, and a simple technique to improve it, even in situations of difficulty.
Day 3 starts with some thoughts and models about learning, including the 'Esteeming Strategy'. Sensory acuity is explored around body language, and about sensory based language. Techniques for improving personal performance and an interpersonal situation are introduced.
Day 4 includes practice of 'Perceptual Positions', a technique for exploring how to handle an interpersonal situation better, and Anchoring, a technique to be able to access a positive feeling at will. The afternoon session explores the NLP approach to time, and timelines, and concludes with a technique for planning medium term goals quickly and effectively.
