What you think and feel ... about what you think and feel

What we think and feel about what we think and feel is known as our 'meta state', and it can have a massive impact on our experience. For example, if I feel anxious about an up coming event, then feel panicky about feeling anxious, then feel scared about feeling panicky about feeling anxious, the negative experience builds and builds. If I step into a more helpful 'meta state' perhaps feeling curious about feeling anxious, it makes the feeling much more acceptable.
